Overview of Account Deletion

At Awaaz, we prioritize your digital autonomy. In compliance with the Google Play Developer Data Deletion policy, this page outlines how any user can permanently delete their Awaaz account, wipe associated reading and listening activity, and purge stored profile records.

Method 1: Direct In-App Deletion (Recommended)

You can execute an immediate, self-serve account deletion at any time directly within the Awaaz Android application:

Open the Awaaz app on your Android device.
Tap on your Profile Avatar in the top corner.
Navigate to Settings → Account Security.
Tap "Delete My Account & Personal Data".
Read the confirmation warning and tap "Confirm Permanent Deletion".

Upon confirmation, your session is immediately terminated and your cloud records are marked for irrevocable deletion.

Method 2: Web / Email Deletion Request

If you have uninstalled the application or cannot access your Android device, you can submit a deletion request via email. Our security desk will verify your ownership and process the removal within 30 calendar days.

What Data Is Permanently Deleted?

When your account is deleted, the following items are permanently and irrevocably wiped from production servers:

Profile Data: Name, email address, profile picture, and Firebase Auth UID.
Loyalty Rewards & Points: Accumulated points, tier level progress, and redemption history.
Reading & Listening Sessions: Saved bookmarks, reading position synchronization, and playlist queues.
Cloud Sync Preferences: Typography configurations and app settings.

Data Retention Exceptions

In accordance with financial and legal obligations, anonymized transaction logs relating to redeemed commercial vouchers or gift cards may be retained for up to 180 days for tax and fraud prevention audit compliance, after which they are permanently expunged.
